Hey everyone,

I’ve been helping my brother having a couple of issues with his Dongfeng Rich EV pickup. The range never hits 100% anymore, it just stops around 40-46%. Plus, there's this annoying lightning bolt symbol in the triangle light that pops up when he starts the truck.

How do we check if the batteries are still healthy, and what should we do to get rid of that error?

Any help would be grately appreciated! Thanks!

Something definitely doesn’t seem right if the truck is stopping at 40-46% and throwing a warning. If the battery isn’t charging past that point, I’d be concerned about whether there’s a bad module limiting the full capacity. Have you noticed any difference in how the truck drives, like reduced power or sluggish acceleration? Sometimes, when a battery isn’t performing properly, the vehicle will put itself into a reduced power mode. Also, does the range estimate match up with how far the truck is actually going, or does it feel like the numbers are off? Since the truck just came back from service, I’d be leaning toward a software issue or something that needs a dealer reset, but if it keeps happening, it might need a deeper battery inspection.

That lightning bolt usually means there's something funky with the battery or charging. Could be a glitch with the battery system talking to the truck. You could run a diagnostic or just take it to the dealer and let them sort it out—especially if it's still under warranty!
